1810's Purple Satin Evening Gown

Dana wanted to attend a Jane Austen themed ball complete with refreshments, live music, and of course, lots of English country dancing. She wanted a simple yet elegant gown that she could wear to several Regency events so we got to work and had some fun in the process.

We decided on a lovely dark purple crepe backed satin fabric that would be great for her evening ball but would also work for an indoor day event. Dana’s gown has a wide scoop neckline with tiny self piping. The puffed sleeves gather into a self band at the hem. The skirt is slightly gathered in front with most of the gathers in the back. A self sash is tied around the Empire waist and is tied in a bow with long tails.

Catherine made my vision a reality. She listened to what I wanted and then offered her expertise like a friend until we landed on a design I was truly ecstatic about. Then she brought it to life with fittings that left me feeling confident and a final look that dropped jaws! Now I know what the rich and famous feel like walking the red carpet!
