This faux fur hooded cape was designed by Melanie Watnick for Beauty in Noah Haidle’s, “Smokefall” at South Coast Repertory, March 2013.
Melanie provided me with a beautiful rendering and giant bags of three different faux furs. It was a lot of fun working out the seaming and putting each fur in the proper place to end up with this final piece. The hood and cape are both fully lined. The finished slits in the side fronts for the actor to have her arms outside of the cape when needed.
I went home covered in faux fur fibers for days but it was worth it!
